Should there be a Commonwealth takeover of public hospitals?
With the recommendations of the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission due to be made public soon this important debate is attracting a good deal of attention. International Political Studies Association World Congress
I attended the triennial International Political Studies Association World Congress in Santiago, Chile in July 2009. IPSA is structured around various specialist research committees and I’m Secretary of RC 38 (Politics and Business). ‘Business in Global Governance’ was a central theme of many of the RC38 papers and the Committee will hold a workshop in 2010 to plan an edited book on the topic. $73k UTAS ‘Rising Star’ Award
September 2008 – Awarded a University of Tasmania ‘Rising Stars’ research fellowship. The awards are to assist outstanding mid-career researchers at the University of Tasmania and I was fortunate enough to be granted $73,000 over the next three years to further my research on global economic governance.
